Our commitment
Rico Fresh Supermercado wants everyone in the neighborhood to be able to use this site — to check a price, read the taqueria menu, and build a shopping list — whatever technology they browse with.
The standard we work to
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the guidelines most widely used to judge whether a website is accessible.
What we have done
- Text and background colors are checked for contrast.
- The site can be operated with a keyboard, and every control we have tested shows a visible focus ring.
- Product images are announced by product name, and images that carry no meaning are hidden from screen readers rather than read out.
- Headings and lists are marked up as headings and lists, so screen readers can navigate the menus.
- The layout reflows down to a phone screen without a horizontal scroll.
This reflects our own testing. The site has not been through an independent accessibility audit, and we do not claim it is free of barriers.
Where we know we fall short
Accessibility is never finished. Product photographs and descriptions come from our suppliers, and some arrive without useful text. We correct these as we find them. If you hit something that does not work for you, we would rather hear about it than not.
Help in the store
If the site is not working for you, our staff will read prices, check stock, and take a taqueria or catering order over the phone during store hours.
Tell us about a problem
Send us a message with the page and what went wrong, and we will look into it and get back to you.
